Many of our loyal Unison Research customers requested that we create a tube amplifier capable of output power well above all our previous achievements. To address this need, the design team created our flagship Unison Research amplifier, the Reference monoblocks. This amplifier is truly the culmination of all of our experience derived from years and years of valve amplifier design.
The Unison Research Reference Monoblocks are massive, Italian-made 845-tube amplifiers known for immense warmth, “theatrical” flair, and a rich, emotional sound. Producing significant heat and weighing 155 lbs each, they deliver a lush, detailed, and powerful soundstage.Lush, detailed, and “soulful” sound with superior midrange presence. Offers a very deep, dimensional, and richly layered sound.
The recording is one of the best I’ve heard for that kind of holographic accuracy. There’s also little or no compression.
The amplifier preserved absolute polarity with both the balanced and unbalanced inputs.
