CCM665 is a high-performance ceiling speaker that’s simplicity itself to install and use. It features a two-way design, with a 150mm (6in) woven glass fibre cone bass/midrange driver and a soft dome tweeter in a neat circular ceiling mount chassis. Passive speakers must be powered by an amplifier. A passive speaker has positive and negative inputs which must be connected to the output of the amplifier with 2-core speaker cable (4-core is required for dual input single stereo speakers).

Measured in ohms, impedance is the resistance or load that a speaker puts on an amplifier. When multiple speakers are connected to an amplifier channel in parallel (doubled up on the terminals) this actually has the effect of reducing the total resistance (1/Rt = 1/R1 + 1/R2 …). Most amplifiers are rated at 4-16 ohms, so care should be taken to stay within this range. If the total impedance in parallel is less than 4 ohms then the speakers should be wired in series.
